George A. Lopez
George A. Lopez, Ph.D. is the Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C., Chair Emeritus in Peace Studies at the Kroc Institute, University of Notre Dame. In more than 30 years at Notre Dame, he was an expert on peacebuilding and economic sanctions. Since 1992 Lopez has advised various international agencies and governments regarding these issues and has written or edited 11 books and more than 50 articles. From October 2010 through July 2011, he served on the United Nations Panel of Experts for monitoring and implementing United Nations sanctions on North Korea.
