Dr. Kathleen Stein-Smith
Dr. Stein-Smith has had a long career as professor of French and a leading advocate for the study of foreign languages in the USA. She has been awarded the honor Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes academiques by the French government. Dr. Stein-Smith has been featured in NPR “The Take Away” and more recently in a Podcast by the Tennessee World Affairs Council. Her books include “The U.S. Foreign Language Deficit: Strategies for Maintaining a Competitive Edge in a Globalized World”, “Multilingualism as a Global Competency” and her latest book “Language Matters”.
