Dinah Lakehal
Dinah Lakehal joined GNWP’s International Coordinating Team in 2018 as a Program Officer, and the focal point for the Middle East and North Africa. Dinah is involved in the work on Global advocacy, Localization; the linkages between CEDAW and WPS; Financing for WPS; NAP development; and engaging journalists in WPS.
Dinah holds a degree in political science and philosophy from Rollins College, with a focus on political and social ethics, international political economy, and feminist philosophy. She is fluent in French, Arabic, Spanish, and English.
She has broad experience in women’s rights advocacy and on conducting research. She was a data analyst and co-author of GNWP’s research on local perspectives on Sustaining Peace, and has been a researcher and analyst in numerous other papers, policy briefs, and research on issues related to Women, Peace, and Security. She has co-facilitated a number of trainings on WPS.
Prior to joining GNWP, Dinah previously worked with various civil society organizations on women’s rights and refugee advocacy and has lived and worked in Casablanca, Buenos Aires, and New York. She is passionate about civil society-led activism and the links between women’s human rights, sustainable development, and climate justice.
